Dr. Maurizio Bertoni
Orthopedics and Traumatology
Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology, with surgical experience of about 6000 knee and shoulder surgeries. He specialized at Massachusetts Hospital in Boston and Columbia Presbyterian Medical College in New York, where he was a Visiting Fellow. Founder of the Training Lab in 2009, he is dedicated to sports injury rehabilitation and prevention. He has been Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and International Associate Faculty of the Sports Medicine Research Institute at the University of Kentucky. He collaborates with the University of Florence and Duke University on research projects and conferences. He participates in the Musculoskeletal & Neurological Institute at Ohio University for injury prevention in athletes. He introduced a Boxing as a Treatment for Parkinson’s program at the Training Lab.
Dr. Leonardo Bettini
Orthopedics and Traumatology
Dr. Leonardo Bettini is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedics and traumatology of the motor system. He received his medical degree from the University of Florence and his residency with highest honors. He works as a freelancer at various health care institutions in Florence and Prato, including the Villafiorita Nursing Home and the Istituto Fisioterapico Convitto Artistico (IFCA).
He has extensive experience in hip and knee prosthetic surgery, having collaborated since 1996 with Prof. Piero Garosi, an expert in this field. At Villafiorita Nursing Home, Dr. Bettini is mainly involved in arthroplasty and arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, helping to perform about 1,500 prosthetic surgeries each year.

Since 2008 I have been practicing ozone therapy with great professional satisfaction in my outpatient clinics in Florence and Scandicci, entirely and exclusively dedicated to this medical practice in all its applications.
In 2023 I started Ozonomedical with the intention of spreading this branch of medicine in the hope that more and more patients will benefit from it.
