Ankle - Sprain/Instability

Ankle sprains, common in sports, often affect the external ligaments. Treatment is usually conservative. Recovery requires proprioceptive rehabilitation to restore stability. Recovery time can be long, up to 4-5 months.

Epicondylitis

Epicondylitis, or tennis elbow, is inflammation of the extensor carpal tendon. Initial treatments include anti-inflammatories, ice and rest. In chronic cases, cortisone infiltration or surgery may be used.

Achilles tendonitis

Inflammation of the Achilles tendon is caused by microtrauma. Treatment includes eccentric exercises, massage and, in severe cases, surgery.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

Compression of the median nerve at the wrist causes tingling and pain. Treatments include reduction of stressful activities, bracing, instrumentation and, if necessary, surgery.
